FRIENDLY MATCHES – Home and away
Any member of the club can take part in the Home and Away Friendly Matches. Members need to put their name on the list for the matches they would like to play in. The bowling committee will make their team selections and the list will be displayed with the match details and the name of that days Captain. The selection depends on the number of members needed for a particular match and the number who have put their name on the list. The lists are at the far end of the club, on the left hand side.
Men and women members can play for the County but must register in the October preceding the following bowling season. The club pays Affiliation Fees to Sussex County Bowls, some of which goes to Bowls England. Each player entering a match must pay their own match fee.
Singles : Must be played by an affiliated member
Doubles: Must be at played by at least one affiliated member, the affiliated member can invite a fully paid up member of Hove & Kingsway Bowling Club to play with them if there partner in the doubles is unable to play.
Triples: As with doubles.
Fours: As with doubles and triples.
NONE OF THE ABOVE INVOLVE PRIZE MONEY
For men only there is the County Top Club which consists of a team of eleven players from each club. The matches consist of double fours and Abergeveny 2 fours

The League consists of the A and B teams and matches take place on Tuesday evenings. They are home and away and for men only. The members wishing to play in league matches usually put their names on a list in the cloakroom area and are then informed by the Team Captains if they are picked to play.
Ladies Competitions are part of the club competitions. The entry forms are issued with the renewals in March each year and paid in advance with the membership fees. Entries can be made later but must be in by a specific date. Forms are displayed in the clubhouse.
