Our new caterers, Christos and Nikos, are getting ready for the 2019 season, with some dates for your diary…

Sunday 14th April (Marathon Day) Join us for a barbecue on the lawn amongst the regular Marathon Day activities.

Easter Sunday (21st April) Open for breakfast and lunch; booking is advised!

Monday 29th April, the official opening – open for the duration of the season for breakfasts, lunches and more. Come and say hello and enjoy some top quality food!

There’s also the President’s supper to look forward to on the evening of May 7th, following a pre-season roll-up – traditional sausage and mash, optional dessert too. (Book via Paul at the bar and advise of any special dietary requirements).

Another of our popular skittles nights coming up on Friday 22nd March. As it was so popular last time, its accompanied by a superb curry, and all for only £7.00!

The skittles will kick off around 7.00 pm, so be early to register for the draw.

Winter Hours

Update, November 2018.


With the season coming to a close, the bar will be reverting to ‘winter hours’ as from Monday 1st October.

We will be closed on weekdays (Monday-Thursday), opening Friday to Sunday at 12 noon until evening, closing time dependent on demand, though typically Friday 10:00 pm, Saturday, 8;00 pm and Sunday 8:00 pm., these times adjusted for any evening functions as necessary.

As from 29th October, the cafe is closed for the winter season.

Any alterations will be announced via the club’s Facebook page  and via this website.

Note that the mixed league game scheduled for Monday 11th June has been postponed by the opposition owing to other commitments.

The Hove Open

The Hove Open is with us now for the next six days. Good luck to all those who are playing. Big thanks to organisers and volunteers, especially Ben Fairhall and Oli Shaw.

St. Chad’s

The next club friendly is versus St. Chad’s, who you may remember from previous visits. This takes place on Thursday 27th July (yes, that’s during Hove Open Week) and the sign-up sheet is in the clubhouse now. 2pm Kick off.

Yesterday (Sunday 21st August) saw Hove and Kingsway ‘A’ travel to Marden Bowls Club, Kent, to take on VCB (Kent) in the last 16 of the National Top Club.

A 4-1 victory saw them advance to the last 8, and representation at the National Finals in Leamington Spa on September 17th.
